yesterday, quite out of the blue, the security guard at the gym asked me: "Are you the gay?"
trying to be witty, i quipped: "I don't know if i'm THE gay, but I'm certainly gay."
He replied: "Oh." i don't think he got my attempt at witticism.
the remarkable thing was that he seemed nonchalant about it all. after that, he went on to talk about bus routes.
it was all quite surreal.
never underestimate people. sometimes they don't care if you're the gay or not.
